When kind readers like yourself make a great suggestion in response to an entry, do I laugh and mock? (sometimes) No! I listen and follow the sage advice.
Today I announce that I have turned a comment into reality, and followed fluffy’s advice in a comment and got some premade meatballs which I will have with my next serving of pasta which is destined to be… tomorrow!

You know, I was honestly a bit baffled when the difficulty of meatballs was discussed earlier.
Get ground meat.
Add your favorite spices.
Make fists (filled with meat).
Add hot pan with oil. (To meat, not hands)
???
Profit!
Dude, it’s easier than POTATOES!

geekpdx: With the exception of on the BBQ in general I dislike cooking with uncooked meat because of the hassle involved with contamination etc. Buying pre-made meatballs avoids the issue altogether.
ucblockhead: They were made from 100% vegan turkeys. Close enough?

rt, I agree with geekpdx – meatballs really aren’t that hard. Add an egg or some breadcrumbs (and definitely some well-chopped onions for flavour) so that they stick together a bit better, but really… not so hard. Use fresh beef, wash your hands before AND after making them, and you likely won’t get food poisoning either. Delicious murder.
Also, I liked the NYC photo.

The addition of egg and crumbs is good. I approve, although it adds two bullets to my simple peasant balls.
As for contamination, I cook meat all the time and mix cutting boards and utensils, don’t wash my hands and frequently don’t cook meat all the way through (mmm!). I am still alive, and have never even made myself sick. It might just be my piratically strong stomach though, which would explain my insatiable need for limes, rum and wenches (in no specific order).
Of course, out of respect for others, I behave in a culturally acceptable “foodsafe” manner when cooking for friends and family.

Hahahahaha, “contamination”. Heh.
It’s actually about rt being squeamish wrt uncooked meat, and trying not to “think about it coming from an animal”.
