As pointed out by the genius Dinosaur Comics, racism is pretty much the lowest form of low in our society and one of the few things that is absolutely not tolerated at all.  Which is a good thing, or at the very least my personal attitudes conform to this.  So if you understand that, you can imagine the horror then when you do something by accident that makes you appear like a racist.  Two examples of this from work today:

• At a company-wide meeting, a project lead was showing off a new game and when prompted to enter a username he entered some random text… which just happened to be “KKK”.  oops.
• My supervisor was passing along a complaint about someone using the “n-word” in a chat and he copied the chat text to his clipboard.  But when he was trying to demonstrate something to a co-worker he used his scroll wheel which doubles as the middle mouse button which in some cases works as a paste button.  So in his demonstration he managed to fill much of a window up with text full of pretty much considered the worse language possible in our society.  oops.
